The start of the Montana State University-Northern wrerstling team's regular season is still a few weeks away, but, per tradition, Light's fans will get an exciting look at this year's team when Northern hosts its annual Alumni Dual.
The season-opening Alumni Dual will take place Saturday at the Armory Gymnasium. Annually, the dual pits former Northern greats, national champions and NAIA All-Americans against current Lights.
Those current Lights include returning standouts like Rylinn Burns, Cooper and Tanner Cook, Devin Crawford, Carl Hansen, Georgino Moraga, Colin Silverthron, as well as star returners Martin Wilkie and NaKoda Siegel. The Lights also have a slew of younger wrestlers expected to rise up this season, including former Havre Blue Pony great and Navy transfer Orion Thivierge.
The Lights, who are led by longtime head coach Tyson Thivierge, will open the regular season Oct. 28 at North Idaho College. Northern's first home dual is set for Nov. 8 when the Lights host arch rival Providence.
Northern hosts its annual Alumni Dual Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Armory Gymnasium. Northern will also hold its Maroon/Gold Dual Oct. 20 at the Armory.
