Sharon (Faber) Bellar, 88, was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She passed away Sept. 28, 2023, in Flagstaff, Arizona, peacefully surrounded by her family.
A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023, at 11 a.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Church with reception to follow.
Sharon was born and raised in Havre, Montana, and later moved to Spokane, Washington, where she pridefully attended Sacred Heart School of Nursing and completed her degree in 1956. She then went on a 45-year career as a nurse, mostly in a hospital setting.
While in nursing school, Sharon made friends with Carolyn Bellar, later to become her sister-in-law after introducing her to Lee Bellar.
The couple married in 1958 in Havre, Montana, and then lived in California while Lee serve in the Coast Guard and Sharon was a "super nurse."
The couple were blessed with five children, Ken, Dave, Jean, Curt and Karen. When Lee retired from the Coast Guard, the couple moved to Flagstaff, Arizona, while the children were school-aged. Sharon loved being a mom and a nurse. This was her life's dedication, and she enjoyed every minute supporting her children's activities. Their five children went on to have a total of 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Sharon delighted in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and always enjoyed gardening at their Flagstaff home.
She will be remembered for her big heart, hard work and her deep love for her family.
We all know how much our mothers mean to us, all the love, advice, chit-chat, memories - and a mother keeps everyone together. She will be deeply missed. Sharon is now in God's hands for peace and safekeeping.
