The name of a man who died over the weekend in a homicide at the Fort Belknap Reservation has been released; T’Jay Brock Allen, 25, died of a single gunshot wound early Sunday morning.
Fort Belknap Chief of Police Josh Roberge confirmed Monday morning that a homicide occurred on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation over the weekend but couldn’t provide details, nor could Fort Belknap Public Relations Officer Camille Stein.
Wednesday, Blaine County Sheriff John Colby told the Havre Daily News Allen’s name and provided some details about his death.
Colby said Blaine County Sheriff’s Office received a call at 1:30 a.m. Sunday reporting a man lying on the road.
Sheriffs and Fort Belknap Police arrived shortly after with the latter providing emergency services until an ambulance arrived.
Allen was transported to an Indian Health Services facility, where he died soon after.
Colby said the cause of death was a single gunshot wound and is being considered a homicide.
He said investigation is ongoing and is being handled by Fort Belknap Police and the FBI.
