T.G.I.F.
You know Lord, teenager "Susie" stopped in last week with an announcement. She opened the door, calling out in her accustomed greeting; "Nana! Are you home? I just heard something I've never heard before - wanna hear about it?" She continued chatting, telling all about T.G.I.F. "You know what that means?" she chuckled. "That means, 'Thank goodness it's Friday' and we've gotten through one more week, headed to the weekend.'"
She said her daddy, with his weekend paycheck, wanted to go wash the car, do some home repair, maybe go bowling with his friends and... he was interrupted as momma thought that she should go shopping, do some baking, go partying, or maybe best of all they could all go camping and picnicking.
Her brother popped in right about then and here's what he wanted; "Susie' added. "LeRoy wanted to go to the Dog Show, then go play tennis, or better yet, he and his two friends could go bicycling around the nearby park, or go to 'Ted's' house and play bingo."
"Susie" could hardly believe all the things they'd all mentioned, but they seemed to have forgotten taking naps, loafing, going fishing or just plain resting.
Susie said, "Daddy interrupted, reminded us of Sunday's sermon how pastor shared Matthew 11:28-29, 'Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.' We're all worked hard, so let's, do what the Lord says,' Daddy said, "let's each do something special for a couple of friends and then let's have a picnic before it turns cold outdoors.' So that's our plan, Nana, thanks for listening, I gotta run!" Then off she ran.
Thank You, Lord, for "Susie" sharing Your message.
Love, Mara
