Obituary - Barbara Jean Anderson

Barbara Jean Anderson, 61, passed away due to natural causes at her residence.

Wake services began at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, September 10, 2023, and will continue until her funeral service, which will be at 10:00 a.m. today, September 11, 2023, all at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Eagleman Family Cemetery.

Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Barbara was born October 26, 1961, in Fort Belknap to George and Queen (Indian) Anderson. She was raised in Rocky Boy, attending school there. After her high school years, Barbara began a career as a camp crew member in wildland firefighting.

Over 16 years, she had six children, and in 1993, the family moved to Havre where Barbara began working for the hospital, nursing homes, hotels and private families, providing housekeeping services.

In 1998, Barbara decided to attend Stone Child College from which she obtained her associate degree in business administration.

In the mid-2000s, she renewed her relationship with Harlan Jeffrey Eagleman, and the couple remained together until his death this past February.

Barbara was a friendly, kind, active woman who enjoyed beading, reading, music, journaling, and spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband and best friend, Harlan "Jeff" Eagleman; baby son Eloi Tate Angstman; parents, George and Queen Anderson; brothers, Ervin, Keith, and Ronald Anderson; and sister Evelyn Eagleman.

Barbara is survived by her children Leslie (Nathan) Pomeroy of Chinook, Bryan (Shaylee Russette) LaMere of Rocky Boy, Chelsey (Dominic Myers) Buck of Missoula, Altair (Chaz White Horse) Anderson of Rocky Boy, and Janene (Dell) Huntley of Havre; 19 grandchildren; sisters Valerie SunChild, Vernice Anderson, Tanya (William Ahenakew) Anderson, and Karen Anderson, all of Rocky Boy; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
