Grief Poem  - Keep On - Persist

We count the days and then the weeks - though 'lone-ness' feels like years.

A picture, dream, or special thought is sure to bring on tears.

As parent, child, sibling, or spouse; will we survived this pain?

They're gone ahead; they're just 'beyond'! We'll see them once again.

Grief and onions - do they compare? Peel one, you'll cry a lot.

This time of grief, will we survive? It's not what we've been taught.

We're not to panic, hurry, hide; we'll 'peel' - not hold tears in.

God promised HOPE - 'devil, get lost'! New life we WILL begin!

We need someone with listening ear - though hurt won't go away.

Hole in my heart from my lost love, hurts worse when day is gray.

Value is lost when 'person's' gone - we didn't KNOW the cost.

Anger fills us - we must speak out - or truly we'll be lost.

Depression comes to each of us; it's normal and it's rough.

Feel what we feel - but peel a layer, though 'stripping' job is tough.

Grief touches all, our circle's broke - we need friends, hugs and 'shush'!

A friend we need, a 'touch' and peace; as we walk through this slush.

Grief 's not a mountain to be climbed, nor a sporty event;

We walk through loss and pain, not trials; this 'time' is time well spent.

We will survive; live, laugh, again; we'll 'peel' at our own pace.

God gives consent to carry on and tears aren't out of place.

We live two ways: heaven and earth - our loved one lives in us.

They are not 'dead' - we won't forget - repeat their tales, a plus.

The 'widow's fog' has got me down though sun is shining bright!

One step, then two; now keep it up; and soon we'll see the LIGHT!
