School began at North Star Schools Wednesday, Aug. 16 at the elementary school in Gildford for K-5 and in Rudyard for grades 6-12. North Star Schools has 180 students this year in grades K-12.
North Star Public School encompasses the communities of Rudyard, Hingham, Gildford and Kremlin
North Star School welcomes the following new staff: Kristen Glennie who is teaching Science, Devin Morris is teaching music to grades K-12, Crystal Glade is the new elementary Secretary, Mike Glade is part-time paraprofessional, Cassidy Tempel is a paraprofessional and Courtney Bettelyoun is an assistant cook. Moving to fourth grade is Katie Bangs while Phyllis Morris is teaching third grade.

Thursday, Aug. 31 is school picture day as well as Middle and High school sports pictures day.
Knight In Need
If your student needs help getting their school supplies, please contact Carol Tempel at 406-355-4481 or at [email protected]. If students need assistance for other items or clothing, they may be considered, just contact Carol. Thanks to anonymous donors, funds are available to help students.
Bad weather or school emergencies
During bad weather or other school emergencies, school closure or delays will be announced on the Havre radio stations (610 KOJM-AM and KPQX-FM 92.5). The Infinite Campus messenger system may also be used to contact parents/guardians.
Sports upcoming games
Practices have begun for middle school and high school football and volleyball athletes. Middle school football kicked off with a game in Rudyard vs. Sunburst at 4 p.m. Monday followed by a JV football match at 5:30 p.m. Middle school volleyball will play Fort Benton in Rudyard at 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31. The football season continues with a middle school and high school match up against CJI in Chester at 4 and 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1.
Booster Club
The North Star Booster Club is accepting memberships. Individuals and families can join for $25 while businesses are $50. Booster Club supports numerous activities such as the I Love To Read program, sports, Senior Scholarship, teacher/staff appreciation, Missoula Children's Theatre and much more.
Star Education Foundation
The North Star Foundation conducts its annual fund raising drive each fall. Contributions have gone toward supporting such programs as sound equipment for the gymnasiums, new lockers for middle school students, and support of the Missoula Children's Theater yearly production. Contributions can be mailed to North Star Foundation, PO Box 14, Rudyard, MT 59540.
