Includes 14 stops through eastern Montana Aug. 21-25

State Auditor Troy Downing, who regulates insurance and securities in Montana, will be in Havre Thursday on a 14-stop tour of the state to educate investors, Montana families, seniors and consumers on safeguarding their finances.
“Our agency investigates and prosecutes dozens of investor protection and senior fraud cases every year, but this is only part of the solution. Through face-to-face conversations and education, we can empower Montanans to identify red flags and report suspected fraud,” Downing said.
Downing and members of his staff are conducting the educational sessions that will include snacks and refreshments or a meal in the designated towns.
The tour starts in Big Timber and Billings today, making 10 other stops, including in Glasgow and Malta Thursday, before coming to North Central Senior Center in Havre.
That presentation, running from 5-6 p.m. Thursday, includes supper.
The tour wraps up Friday with a stop in Lewistown.
All of the events are free to the public and all are welcome. For answers to questions about the tour, people can contact Sam Loveridge at 406-670-8522 or via email at [email protected] .
