On Tuesday, the Havre High golf teams finally began the season with the Lewistown Invitational. In the Blue Ponies' first action of the season, the girls team finished second with a team score of 437 while the boys team took third with a team score of 374.
Several Ponies performed well to start the 2023 season. On the girls team, Shea Reber had the best finish with a total score of 97 as she recorded a score of 50 out and a score of 47 in. Brenna Hanson had the second-best finish for Havre with a total score of 111 and Tierra Parker had the third-best finish with a total score of 113. Cali Beber recorded a total score of 116 and Cali Pyrak had a total score of 123.
Several boys had strong starts to the season for the Ponies. Callen Stoner had the best finish for Havre as he had a total score of 91, with 47 in and 41 out. Matt Huse had the second-best finish for Havre with a total score of 92 and Quinn Elliot had the third-best finish for the Ponies with a total score of 94. Reid Kato recorded a total score of 97 and Carter Spangler posted a total score of 99.
The HHS golf teams will continue the season today with the Havre Invitational at Prairie Farms Golf Course and Beaver Creek Golf Course. The Ponies will then compete in the Browning Invitational in Shelby Friday.
