Fort Belknap seeks address updates before election

Fort Belknap Indian Community has put out a call for address updates from tribal members before the next election.

A primary election will be held Oct. 3, 2023, and a general election Nov. 7, 2023. A release said it is important for tribal members to update both their physical address and their mailing address before the elections.

The release said neither the tribal election office nor the Bureau of Indian Affairs can update addresses for election purposes. Only the enrollment office can update addresses for election purposes.

Ballots will be sent to the address tribal members list with the enrollment office, the release said.

Tribal members are responsible for contacting the Fort Belknap Indian Community Enrollment Office at 406-353-8531 or 406-353-8532 or via email at [email protected] or [email protected] to update their addresses, the release said.

No exceptions will be made, it added.
