News you can use
Well after two and a half great years, I am sad to say that I will be leaving the Havre Daily News. I am accepting the position of sports reporter back in my hometown in California in order to be closer to my family. With this new opportunity, I will have to step away from my responsibilities as the sports reporter for the Havre Daily News.
During my time here, I have had many great experiences that I will not soon forget. I have gotten to behold the greatness of the state wrestling tournaments at the Metra in Billings these past two years. I have gotten the privilege of covering a three-peat by the Havre High girl’s basketball team. Earlier this month, I got to cover Legion Field’s first ever Northwest Regionals Baseball Tournament. With these memories and many more, my time on the Hi-Line will be precious to me.
As I leave this newspaper, I would just like to thank everyone who made this past two and a half years an experience that I will never forget. I would like to thank George Ferguson for hiring me in the first place and giving me the opportunity to cover sports on the Hi-Line. I would like to thank Colin Thompson for being a great photographer during our time together on the paper. And I would like to thank the rest of the Havre Daily News staff for welcoming me when I first got here and helping me perform my duties over the years.
Thank you to all the coaches and athletic directors for helping me do my job over the years. Thank you to all the great athletes for the wonderful competition that I had the privilege to cover over the years. And thank you to this community for making sports on the Hi-Line such a spectacle to behold.
I am excited for this new chapter in my life, but I know I will miss Havre. I will miss the beauty of the Treasure State and all that it has to offer. I could not have thought of a better place to start my career and call home the past two and a half years.
