Cub Scout Pack 4426 is looking to add new members and is holding an event at Pepin Park Saturday, Aug. 12, to show what scouting is about.
“Scouting is an investment in character and leadership, come see what scouting can do for your child,” a press release said.
The theme for the event is “A Day at the Races,” and will focus on how being outdoors is a huge part of scouting, the release said.
Events include a “raingutter regatta,” a frisbee race, an obstacle course, straw rockets and a “box derby.”
“We are hoping to expose kids and parents to what scouting is, and what it has to offer children, families, and the community,” the release said.
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in Pepin Park. All area youth entering grades kindergarten through five and their parents are invited to attend. Lunch and refreshments will be provided for all participants.
