MSU-Northern volleyball set to host alumni match

The new college year is right around the corner and a sign of that is the Montana State University-Northern volleyball alumni match coming Friday at Armory Gymnasium. At that match, members of the current MSU-N volleyball team will face off against former players from the program.

With their match this Friday night, it will be the first game action for the Skylights this fall. As they finally get on the court, the Skylights look to pick up from where they left off from last season.

Hailie George will look to get herself ready for her senior season after recording 198 digs for the Skylights last season. Jessalyn Chvilicek will return to the court after leading the team with 240 kills last season.

Alyssa Pretty Weasel should get some playing time this Friday after recording 211 kills and 54 blocks last fall. Emily Feller will use the match this Friday to begin preparation for hopefully another strong season with the Skylights. Last fall, Feller recorded 661 assists and 21 service aces for MSU-N.

The Skylights hope to use this friendly match to get themselves ready for the fall season. Last season, the Skylights finished the year with a 3-6 record in the Frontier Conference and an overall record of 11-13. In the recent preseason coaches poll, the Skylights were picked to finish last in the conference.

The MSU-N volleyball alumni match will begin Friday at 7 p.m. at Armory Gymnasium. The Skylights will then begin the season when they play Evergreen State College Aug. 17 at noon in Butte.
