Thursday morning, Tanner Delarosa and the Havre Northstars suffered a 14-1 loss to the Butte Miners in an elimination game in the Class A State Tournament in Laurel. Despite the early exit, the Northstars will get to continue their season as they will host the Northwest Regional Tournament at Legion Field early next month.
After losing its opening game of the Class A State Tournament in Laurel, the Havre Northstars American Legion baseball club was looking to stay alive in an elimination game Thursday morning. But against the Butte Miners, the Northstars suffered a 14-1 loss to end their run in the state tournament.
The Miners got rolling early in the top of the first inning. Early in the inning, a pair of Miners scored on a wild pitch and then stole home to give Butte a 2-0 lead. A single then drove in another run to give Butte a 3-0 lead to start the game.
