Off-road crash kills one in Blaine County

A side-by-side off-road vehicle crash on private property near the intersection of Clear Creek and Sucker Creek roads in Blaine County Wednesday resulted in one fatality and two injuries.

The crash was reported at 4 p.m. Wednesday to Blaine County dispatch and Blaine County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene along with Montana Highway Patrol.

MHP Trooper Conor Doyle said this morning that the investigation and the report are not complete yet, but he was able to report that the driver of the side-by-side lost control of the vehicle. The first deputy on the scene performed CPR on one of the vehicle occupants, but that person died of injuries prior to Doyle’s arrival around 4:40 p.m.

The name of the deceased has not been released.

The other two occupants were transported to Northern Montana Hospital, he added, and no other vehicle was involved in the crash.
