People have a chance this week to meet face-to-face with two new leaders in the Havre public schools system.
A community meet and greet is set Thursday for Havre Public Schools’ new superintendent, Brian Gum, and the newly appointed executive director of the Havre Public Schools Education Foundation, Krystal Steinmetz.
The event is scheduled for 6-7:30 p.m. in the Havre Middle School foyer Thursday.
“(Havre Public Schools) is dedicated to providing exceptional education opportunities and cultivating an environment that fosters success for all students,” a release about the event said. “In line with this commitment, the district is proud to welcome Gum as the new superintendent, bringing a wealth of experience and forward-thinking approach that will further elevate the educational landscape in Havre.”
The release added that, possessing a strong track record of leadership and a keen understanding of the needs of today’s students, Gum aims to build strong relationships with students, staff, parents and the broader community. His vision is centered around enhancing educational experiences and nurturing an environment where every student thrives.
The release said that the school district and the education foundation are excited to have Krystal Steinmetz join the foundation as its new executive director, adding that the funding foundation plays a pivotal role in supporting innovative educational programs, resources and opportunities in the district.
With Steinmetz spearheading its operations, the foundation hopes to expand its fundraising efforts so it can make an even greater impact on the lives of students across the district, the release said.
The meet and greet event provides an invaluable opportunity for community members, parents, educators and students to meet both Gum and Steinmetz in person, the release said. Attendees will have a chance to engage in informal conversations, ask questions and become better acquainted with the vision, goals and aspirations for the district.
“We extend a warm invitation to mark your calendars for Thursday, July 27, from 6-7:30 p.m., and join us in the HMS foyer for this casual open-house style event,” the release concludes. “The collective strength of the Havre community plays a vital role in the success of Havre Public Schools.”
