Great Northern Fair starting Wednesday

While Hill County 4-H’ers are already active on the fairgrounds, the main activities on the Great Northern Fairgrounds for this year’s fair are set to get underway Wednesday.

4-H did its setup Sunday and started interviews today, along with opening the Chuckwagon, and will continue with activities Wednesday.

And Wednesday sees the midway opening with the carnival starting at 4 p.m., the open exhibits in the Community Center and the Commercial Building exhibits opening, as well as the food vendors including numerous longtime favorites that are fundraisers for local service groups and community entities.

Following is an updated schedule for this year’s 2023 Great Northern Fair:

Wednesday, July 19

• 8 a.m. — Bigger Better Barn concessions open

• 9:30 a.m. — 4-H Horse Show

• Noon — Commercial Building opens

— Open exhibits in Community Center open

— Food vendors open

— 4-H Chuckwagon open (concessions and exhibit viewing)

• 3 p.m. — Arena — Jr. Rodeo
