Gina Kirkpatrick Schmitte of Havre, 52, was arrested on charges of theft and forgery after a caller at a First Street establishment reported Saturday at 7:50 p.m. that a woman who had stolen a check two weeks prior was on site and trying to cash the check.

Willdette Mary Duran of Havre, 36, was arrested on two Justice or City court warrants and Joshua Ryan Lamere of Box Elder, 44, was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence after a caller at a First Street Northwest business reported Sunday at 3:26 a.m. that their vehicle had been hit, causing injuries and the driver had parked their vehicle and fled on foot. Three people were treated on scene, but no one required transport.

Two arrests were made after a 6:29 a.m. Monday caller in Fort Belknap reported a vehicle was stolen and the driver, who was headed toward Havre, was likely going through Chinook at that moment. The driver was stopped and apprehended on U.S. Highway 2 East. No details on charges were included in the dispatch log, but two people named as involved parties were listed in the Monday jail roster. Sasha Lovejoy was being held on charges of unauthorized use of a vehicle and driving with a suspended or revoked driver's license, and Claire Marie Shambo was served three Justice or City court warrants.

Emmett James Kruegel Daniels of Long Beach, California, 32, was arrested on charges of obstructing a peace officer or other public servant, resisting arrest, trespass to property and vandalism after a caller at the rail yard asked Saturday at 8:10 a.m. for assistance.

Havre Fire Department
Emergency medical technicians responded to four calls Friday, four calls Saturday, three calls Sunday and five calls Monday.

Firefighters responded to four calls in the four-day reporting period. A 9:20 a.m. call Friday to the 10 Block of Third Street West was due to steam from a shower triggering the fire alarm: A 12:40 p.m. Saturday call about a fire on the 3200 Block of U.S. Highway 2 East was due to boxes being burned in a container without a prior burn permit. At 3:37 a.m. Sunday they assisted at a vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 2 Northwest where all people were able to get out of the vehicles and no one required transport to care. And a Monday 8:01 a.m. response to the 600 Block of 10th Street was for a gas odor but nothing was detected.
Havre Animal Shelter
The shelter this morning held one cat of unknown gender, three female cats, four male cats and six 6-week-old kittens.

The shelter also held six female dogs, three male dogs and seven puppies from 12 weeks to 10 months old. Additionally, a 21-week-old puppy and a dog were being housed off-site.
