News you can use
In an article published on the front page of Thursday’s edition of Havre Daily News about this week’s meeting of the Great Northern Fair Commission, board member Ken Erickson is cited as saying it seems like Emily Mayer is trying to sidestep the H. Earl Clack Memorial Museum board by asking the fair commission for permission to give presentations about the museum-owned Faber Schoolhouse and Homestead Shack on the fairgrounds. Mayer told Havre Daily News that English approached her about doing something during the fair, not the other way around. She said he suggested she talk about the Faber Schoolhouse and Homestead Shack on the fairgrounds, but he knew they belonged to the museum. “I could, however, talk about the history of both structures but not go inside,” Mayer said. “I don’t need anyone’s permission to talk about Havre and Hill County history.”
