In coaching, things change rather quickly.
That's certainly been true in the realm of Frontier Conference basketball coaches.
First, the great Steve Keller retired from his most recent post as the head men's coach at Providence. Keller had incredible runs first at Montana Western, then with the Argos. In all, he's one of the most successful Frontier coaches to ever stalk the sidelines.
But the winds of change keep blowing in the Frontier.
Earlier this month, Carroll College men's coach Kurt Paulson stepped down due to personal reasons, leaving perhaps the most coveted coaching position in the Frontier presently vacant. Paulson is the second head coach to leave the Carroll men's program in just the last four years.
That isn't where the Frontier roller coaster ends, though.
Two big things recently happened as Keller re-emerged, taking an assistant position at Rocky Mountain College, from where he graduated.
Then, just last week, Lindsey Woolley announced he's leaving the Montana Western women's program, moving up to Division I Utah State. Woolley led Western to a national championship and many, many NAIA national tournament appearnaces, and leaves as one of the winningest coaches in Bulldog history.
Yes, it's been a crazy summer of coaching changes in the Frontier, and it's only early June. So stay tuned to see how it all shakes out.
