Rod Run and Show 'n' Shine set for June 9-10

Editor’s note: This version corrects the date of the event in the headline.

The Hi-Line Cruz’n Association is once again expecting to bring people and their classic vehicles from around the state, around the country and across the border to Havre with its 35th Annual Bear Paw Rod Run and Show ’n’ Shine set for Friday and Saturday next week, June 9-10.

All events are at the Great Northern Fairgrounds.

The theme this year is “The Roaring Twenties.”

Cruz’n Association media representative Craig Otterstrom said the event brings people from this area and from many other locations to Havre.

He said many people basically plan the trip at the previous Rod Run, but word of mouth often brings new people as well.

This is the second year back after it was canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Otterstrom said knowing well in advance the event could be held made it easier to plan this year.

The event has an early bird price for people who sign up by Thursday, June 1, but people can register right through the morning of Saturday, June 9.

No registrations will be accepted after 1 p.m. Saturday, June 10.

Friday, June 9, registration is open 5-9 p.m. with a meal from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the fairgrounds for entrants.

Registration opens at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 10, and the open Show ’n’ Shine is set at the fairgrounds from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the participants showing their vehicles off to each other and to the public.

This is the only event open to the public, with all other parts of the Rod Run just for registered participants.

A poker run starts at 2 p.m. and runs through 4 p.m., with participants driving to the different locations and picking a card, with the best poker hand built at the end winning the prize.

A pitch fork fondue starts at the fairgrounds at 6 p.m., followed by awards and dancing to the music of local band Blind Luck from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Prices for registrations to June 1 are $50 U.S. for singles, $60 U.S. for couples and $75 U.S. for families, for two adults and children younger than 21. Family members 21 and older will be charged $45 U.S.

After June 1 charges in U.S. funds are $55 per single, $65 per couple and $80 per family.

Money must be sent immediately. People can email their registration forms and mail their check, but checks must be received before June 9 or the registrants will be charged the after-June 1 price.

The registration can be downloaded at the Cruz’n Association Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/448829090496 .
