Hi-Line Athletes of the Week

Caleb Tomac

At the Eastern A Divisional Track and Field Meet in Sidney, Caleb Tomac had a strong start to the postseason. He took first in the 800-meter dash with a time of 1:58.43 and he finished first in the 1,600-meter dash with a time of 4:28.59. He also took third in the 3,200-meter dash with a time of 9:52.37. With his performance in these events, Tomac qualified for the Class A State Meet in Laurel.

Elle Verploegen

At the Eastern A Divisional Tournament in Billings, Elle Verploegen was instrumental in helping the Havre High softball team win the title. She went 3-0 with a 1.333 ERA and 19 strikeouts. After giving up two runs early in the championship game against Billings Central, she held the Rams scoreless the rest of the way which gave her team the chance to come back to win.
