Chinook girls win Northern C Divisional Track Meet

At Memorial Stadium in Great Falls Friday, the Northern C Divisional Track and Field Meet wrapped up with some more great performances from District 9C athletes. Over the course of the day, several Hi-Line athletes qualified for the state meet.

In the girls meet, Chinook took first as it scored 69 total points as a team. Anna Terry continued to do well in the meet as she took first in the 1,600-meter dash Friday with a time of 5:34.18. In the same event, her teammate Alexus Seymour took third with a time of 5:40.07 and fellow Sugarbeeter Neva Lowe took fifth with a time of 5:56.73.

In the high jump Friday, Chinook's Belle Elliot took fifth with a measurement of 4-10. In the 1,600 relay Friday, the Chinook team of Seymour, Lowe, Terry and Hallie Neibauer took fourth with a time of 4:32.06.

Fort Benton wrapped up Friday by taking fourth in the girls meet with 65 total points as a team. Angeline Riener had a strong Friday as she took first in the high jump with a measurement of 5-02 and she took fifth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.81.

Fellow Longhorn Emerson Giese took second in the 200-meter sprint with a time of 27.78. Her teammate Etta Wicks took fourth in the 100-meter sprint with a time of 13.55. In the 1,600 relay Friday, the Fort Benton team of Wicks, Riener, Giese and Sarah Clark took second with a time of 4:22.34.

In the girls meet, Turner took eighth with 26 total points. It was Bridget Reed who led the way as she performed well Friday to end the meet. She took second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.79 and she took third in the 200 with a time of 28.42. She also took fourth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 48.07 and she took fifth in the 100 with a time of 13.65.

North Star finished ninth in the girls meet with 24 total points. On Friday, Rainee Watson took third in the discus with a distance of 102-04.

Chester-Joplin-Inverness took 10th in the girls meet with 23 total points. MaRae Smail had a strong end to the meet as she took third in the high jump with a measurement of 5-00 and she took sixth in the discus with a distance of 91-00.

Her teammate Jayla Ramberg took second in the triple jump with a measurement of 33-03. Fellow Hawk Brie Mattson took fifth in the 200 with a time of 28.72. In the 1,600 relay Friday, the CJI team of Smail, Mariah Ramberg, Wrien Wolery and Tara Carter took sixth with a time of 4:44.01.

The Big Sandy girls team finished 12th with 19 total points. In the 1,600, Alex Worrall took fourth with a time of 5:53.47. In the triple jump, Jaihven Baumann took fourth with a measurement of 32-08.25 and Malaysia Baumann took fifth with a measurement of 32-04.

Big Sandy's Eva Yeadon took sixth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 51.61. In the 1,600 relay Friday, the Big Sandy team of Yeadon, Mattie Gasvoda, Angela Sant and Jenny Sant took fifth with a time of 4:42.59.

In the girls meet, Box Elder scored four total points as a team. Meiyah Oats finished fourth in the high jump with a measurement of 4-10.

In the boys meet, Chinook took second with 90 total points. Over the course of Friday, many Sugarbeeters had strong performances to wrap up the meet. Brenden Fetter took first in the 100 with a time of 11.50 and he took first in the 200 with a time of 23.18. He also took second in the triple jump with a measurement of 43-09.5.

His teammate Levi Jensen took second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.90 and he took second in the high jump with a measurement of 6-00. He also took fourth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 43.96. Fellow Sugarbeeter Landen Beck took third in the 800 with a time of 2:06.87 and his teammate Carson Nissen took fifth in the 100 with a time of 11.86.

Braxton Inman also had a strong day for the Sugarbeeters as he took second in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 42.47 and he took sixth in the 200 with a time of 24.37. His teammate Oliver Standiford took fourth in the high jump with a measurement of 5-10. In the 1,600 relay Friday, the Chinook team of Beck, Inman, Danny McKenzie and Noah Pomeroy took fifth with a time of 3:42.81.

North Star finished fifth in the boys meet with 31 total points. Carter Campbell had a strong end to the meet as he took fourth in the 800 with a time of 2:07.61 and he took fourth in the 3,200 with a time of 11:17.05.

Fort Benton took seventh in the boys meet with 21 total points. On Friday, Nathan Dunham took fourth in the 200 with a time of 24.07 and he took sixth in the 100 with a time of 11.89. In the 1,600 relay, the Fort Benton team of Dunham, Brock Grossman, Landis Arganbright and Eli Arganbright took second with a time of 3:35.98.

The CJI boys team ended Friday in eighth place with 20 total points. Cooper Streit ended the meet strong as he took third in the 3,200 with a time of 11:11.78 and he took fifth in the 800 with a time of 2:08.05. In the 110-meter hurdles, Ryland St. John took fifth with a time of 17.65.

Big Sandy tied for ninth in the boys meet with 19 total points. Kody Strutz took fourth in the triple jump with a measurement of 40-07 and his teammate Wylee Snapp took fifth in the discus with a distance of 135-08. Turner scored 18 total points as a team in the meet. In the 800 Friday, Ryan Doyle took first with a time of 2:01.41.

With their performances, all these athletes qualified for the Class B-C State Meet that will begin in Laurel Thursday.
