'My guy!'
You know, Lord, interesting things happen, when a friend and her friend, stop over, wanting to share a visit and some tea - like fun, right?! J. C. began: "Hey, I just wanted to tell you about my guy. He's one adorable chap, strong and brave, too. Interesting weather we've had, so, he got the tall ladder out, climbed to the top of the house, cleaned the eave troughs out. Looked scary to me, but he did a good job and safely climbed back down. He also helped the next-door elderly neighbors out with some of their projects, he's brave and smart, too, just ask the older Ms. K., she'll tell you how great and loveable he is."
She chuckled as D.J. said, "Well, that's your guy, but my guy is just as marvelous, loveable, polite and courageous. Last summer, our elderly, feeble neighbor had a dead tree, one he couldn't handle, so my guy stepped up, sawed it down, then sawed it to be used for firewood for their fireplace."
J.C. chuckled and added, "Well, my guy's also loveable and knows how to do some things in the house, he can cook! Last week he made noodles from scratch - I've never done that; they turned out really good. Not only that, he is six-foot two with eyes of blue, their ain't much that my guy can't do.'
D.J. added, "My guy's eyes are brown, he likes to be a clown, loves taking me downtown, he's great to have around ... ."
J.C. interrupted: "I want to share two Bible verses which remind me of our guys. 1 Corinthians 13:13 'And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.' and Philippians 4:13 'I can do all things through him who gives me strength.'"
Thank You, Lord, for friends sharing special times, knowing that You give them/us strength.
Love, Mara
