Best of 9C to compete at Northern C Divisional

After a competitive District 9C track and field meet to start the postseason, many Hi-Line athletes will now compete in the Northern C Divisional track and field meet in Great Falls this week. With a chance to qualify for next week's state meet, athletes from Fort Benton, Chinook, Chester-Joplin-Inverness, North Star, Box Elder, Turner and Big Sandy should compete hard.

In the 100-meter sprint, Brenden Fetter of Chinook and Cooper Taylor of Big Sandy will compete. Fetter has a best of 11.40 and Taylor has a best of 11.44 in the event this season. Both athletes will also run in the 200-meter sprint as Fetter has a best of 22.97 and Taylor has a best of 23.85 in that event this season.

In the 400-meter dash, Ryan Doyle will compete as he has a best of 52.46. He will run against Fort Benton's Brock Grossman, who has a personal record of 53.41 in the 400 this season. Doyle should also be the favorite in the 800-meter dash with a personal record of 2:02.21 this season. He will compete against Chinook's Landen Beck in that event.

Cooper Streit from CJI will compete in both the 1,600-meter dash and the 3,200-meter dash. He has a best of 5:00.34 in the 1,600 and a best of 10:42.09 in the 3,200 this season.

Chinook's Levi Jensen will compete in both the 110-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles this week. He has a best of 16.52 in the 110 and a best of 44.15 in the 300. His teammate Braxton Inman will also compete in the 300-meter hurdles with a best of 43.01.

Big Sandy's Wylee Snapp will look to do well in both the shot put and the discus. He has a best of 47-06.5 in the shot put and a best of 149-06 in the discus. In the javelin, Taylor and CJI's Braden Mattson will both compete. In the high jump, Jensen and Box Elder's Tracen Jilot will look to perform well.

In the pole vault, Fort Benton's Teagan Reimer should be favored with a personal record of 10-06. He will compete against the likes of Fort Benton's Trevor O'Hara and North Star's Travis Otto.

In the long jump, Fetter should be favored with a personal record of 21-08. He will compete against Mattson, who has a best of 20-05 in the event this season. Fetter should also be the favorite in the triple jump with a personal record of 46-04.5 in the event.

On the girls side, many athletes from the 9C will also be competing. In the 100, Fort Benton's Etta Wicks will compete with a personal best of 13.34 in the event. She will also compete in the 200 against the likes of Brie Mattson from CJI.

In the 400, Chinook's Hallie Neibauer and Mattson will be some of the athletes racing. In the 800, Neibauer should be favored with a personal record of 2:29.07 this season. She will run against other 9C athletes such as Fort Benton's Alexus Seymour and Chinook's Anna Terry.

Terry should be favored in the 1,600 with a personal record of 5:39.23 in that event this season. She will run against Seymour, Chinook's Neva Lowe and Big Sandy's Alex Worrall. Terry should also be favored in the 3,200 with a personal record of 12:19.70. She will also race against Lowe in that event.

In the 100-meter hurdles, Turner's Bridget Reed and Fort Benton's Angeline Riener will be racing. Reed will also compete in the 300-meter hurdles as she has a personal record of 48.30 in that event this season.

Kaytlyn Domire from North Star will compete in the shot put and the discus this week. She has a best of 33-02.5 in the shot put and a best of 103-07.5 in the discus. In the shot put, Domire will compete against Fort Benton's Kylynn Nack and Chinook's Hannah Schoen. In the discus, Domire will compete against her teammate Rainee Watson. Domire and Watson will both compete in the javelin as well.

Riener should be favored in the high jump with a personal record of 5-01 this season. She will compete against CJI's MaRae Smail, Box Elder's Meiyah Oats and Big Sandy's Eva Yeadon. Nack should be favored in the pole vault with a personal record of 7-06 in that event.

In the long jump, Reiner and Wicks will both compete. Jayla Ramberg from CJI should be favored in the triple jump with a personal record of 34-02.75.

At the meet, the 9C schools will compete against schools from the 8C and the 10C such as Belt, Cascade, Dutton-Brady, Geraldine, Heart Butte, Highwood, Sunburst, Roy-Winifred, Simms and Valier. With a spot in next week's state meet in Laurel on the line, the athletes from 9C District will be looking to perform well against this competition this week.

The Northern C Divisional Track Meet began today in Great Falls at Memorial Stadium.
