Obituary - Rosetta 'Rusty' Lowry, 82

SIDNEY - Memorial services for Rosetta "Rusty" Lowry will be Monday, May 22, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Fulkerson Stevenson Memorial Chapel.

Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home of Sidney, MT is assisting the family.

Rosetta "Rusty" Lowry was born July 19, 1940, in Malta, MT, the daughter of Ludwig and Loretta Kuntz. She grew up and went to school in Harlem, MT.

Rusty married Milton Lowry June 7, 1958, in Chinook, MT. They lived in Sidney, MT then later moved to Belgrade, MT, where she raised her four children while selling Avon and Tupperware. They moved to Hogeland in 1986, where she worked at the Post Office and the North 40.

Later, when her kids were grown, Rusty lived in Havre, MT for a number of years before returning to Sidney, MT to be closer to her daughters. While in Havre, she spent most of her time volunteering at the Giveaway House; a place close to her heart.

Rusty was a strong-willed women with her own distinct opinion on everything. That accompanied by her delightful, often warped sense of humor made her fun to be around. Rusty was a passionate reader of romance novels, loved puzzles and playing word games. She adored calligraphy, bingo, and card and board games, also. She had a special place in her heart for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Rusty never missed sending everyone a birthday and holiday greeting card.

Rosetta "Rusty" passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at the Sidney Health Center, Sidney, MT, with family by her side. She will be greatly missed by many.

Surviving her are her children Cindy (Rocky) Cowell, Kelly (Alan) Burke and Christopher "Chris" Lowry; her sisters, Pearless Doney, Irene Crasco, and Cheri Brindle; her grandchildren, Michael (Sarah) Burke, Ryan Cowell, Kimberly (Tony) Thomas, Heather Burke, Gary (Keriann) Burke, Sean (Breezy) Cowell, Melanie (Dustin) Knoll, Paul Lowry, Tristan Lowry and Madison Lowry; 19 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son Loren Lowry; brothers, Charles Kuntz, Allen Thingstad and Howard Thingstad.
