Snow interrupted the start to the Havre High tennis season, and rain interrupted the end of the regular season.
The Blue Ponies’ final weekend of the regular season saw them get in just two duals at last Friday’s Fergus Invitational in Lewistown, with Saturday’s Miles City Invite being completely canceled.
On Friday, the Havre boys fell to both Miles City and Billings Central in Lewistown. Against the Cowboys, Havre got wins at No. 1 doubles from Reid Kato and Conner McKay, as well as a big win at No. 2 doubles by Max Spangler and Jackson Headress. The very tough Miles City girls swept the Blue Ponies in the dual.
Against Billings Central, the Havre boys fell 6-1 with only No. 1 singles player Carter Spangler getting a win. On the other end, the Blue Ponies girls swept the Rams 7-0, with wins in singles from Rayna Johnson, Chloe Bricker, Amaya Bliwernitz and Lindsey Leinwand, while Courtney Burchard and Cat Kaftan, Emerald Tinsley and Kate Hemmer and Alera Chandler and Heather Herring all won doubles matches.,
Havre was also slated to travel to Miles City for three duals Saturday, but the weather forecast called off the event. Now, the Ponies will instead prepare for this week’s Northeast A Divisional Tournament, which runs Thursday and Friday back in Lewistown.
