Marlene R. Wartnow, 83, passed away due to natural causes at the Northern Montana Care Center Thursday, May 4, 2023.
Cremation has taken place, and her family will be scattering her ashes at a later date.
Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Marlene was born July 9, 1939, in LaMoure, ND, to Oscar and Laverne (Weston) Kirkedahl. The family spent her first several years in North Dakota and then moved to Montana, settling in Whitefish when Marlene was in junior high. After her school years, Marlene married George Wartnow, and the couple had three children and 20 years of marriage before divorcing.
In the late 1970s, Marlene moved to Havre to be near her sister, Kim.
Marlene enjoyed playing Yahtzee with her friends. She was an avid crocheter, and fabulous bowler, having brought home many bowling trophies over the years.
She was preceded in death by her grandson Travis Wartnow; great-grandson Matthew Carr; parents, Oscar and Laverne Kirkedahl; and sister, Kim Kirkedahl.
Marlene is survived by her children, George (Ronnda) Wartnow, Marie Bare, and Julie (Rod) Cole, all of Kalispell; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; siblings Samuel Kirkedahl of Canada and Jerry (Kay) Kirkedahl of Spokane, WA, and several nieces and nephews.
