Clyde R. Thomas Jr., a member of Bear Paw Volunteer Fire Department, walks Sunday inside Bear Paw VFD's fire hall before community members arrived for the community barbecue held Sunday. The open house celebration was held to commemorate the volunteer fire department's first-ever fire hall, a 60-by-80 foot heated structure built on land donated by Thomas along Montana Secondary Highway 234 south of Havre. "It's been a long road to this point, and we were excited to have the community there to see it," BPVFD Fire Chief Josh Bebee said, adding about their first-ever fire hall that will allow Bear Paw the chance to have all their equipment and records and a meeting place under one roof. "It'll be good for us."
