Blue Ponies perform well at North/East Top 10 Meet

On Tuesday night in Glasgow, the Havre High track and field teams competed in the Norm Girard North/East Top 10 Meet. In every event, the top 10 athletes in the region competed to see who was the best.

Several Blue Ponies had strong performances against the tough competition. On the HHS boys team, Brayden Kimberling took first in both the 100-meter sprint and the 200-meter sprint. He recorded a time of 11.52 in the 100 and he posted a time of 23.12 in the 200.

Caleb Tomac finished first in the 3,200-meter dash with a time of 9:48.22. In the 800-meter dash, Brody Henry took second with a time of 2:03.51 and Zack May took fifth with a time of 2:08.43.

In the 300-meter hurdles, Jacob Herring finished third with a time of 43.50. Michael Emge finished fourth in the 100 with a time of 24.01 and Andrew LaRoque took fifth in the shot put with a measurement of 42-02.5.

As usual, the HHS boys team did well in the relay events. In the 1,600 relay, the team of Herring, Emge, Shane Patacsil and Trayden Riley took first with a time of 3:33.22. In the 400 relay, the team of Patacsil, Kimberling, Brisbin Reiter and Carson Harris took fourth with a time of 45.49.

Many Ponies on the HHS girls team did well. Kaydance Reiter took second in the 100 with a time of 13.26 and she finished second in the 200 with a time of 26.94. Macy Brandon also did well in the sprints as she took fifth in the 100 with a time of 13.63 and she took sixth in the 200 with a time of 27.44.

Kyanna Jarvis took second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.63 and she took second in the high jump with a measurement of 5-02. Clara Laird finished fourth in the javelin with a measurement of 117-01 and she took fifth in the discus with a measurement of 93-04.

In the 400-meter sprint, Ela Harbor took fourth with a time of 1:02.94. Amaya Jarvis finished fourth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 48.44 and Hailey Gingery took fifth in the 800 with a time of 2:32.25. In the triple jump, Macee May took sixth with a measurement of 32-11.25.

The HHS girls team also did well in the relay events. In the 400 relay, the team of May, Kyanna Jarvis, Reiter and Carolyn Thomas took first with a time of 51.57. In the 1,600 relay, the HHS team of Brandon, Amaya Jarvis, Kyanna Jarvis and Reiter took first with a time of 4:14.07.

The HHS track and field teams will have little time to rest as they will next compete in the Havre Lions Invite at the Havre Middle School Track this Saturday.
