HHS tennis competes in pair of duals down in Great Falls

On Tuesday night down in Great Falls, the Havre High tennis teams continued their season with duals against Great Falls and CMR. The HHS boys team went 1-1 in its duals while the HHS girls team lost a dual and tied in the other.

In its first dual, the HHS boys team won 5-3 against Great Falls. In singles, Carter Spangler won, 6-2, 6-0, in his match against Chad Wyman. While the Blue Ponies lost their other singles matches, they did well in doubles to win the dual. The doubles team of Reid Kato and Conner McKay won their match 6-2, 6-2. The team of Max Spangler and Jackson Headdress won, 6-2, 7-5, in their match.

In their match, the doubles team of Carter Chagnon and Mason Kinsella won 6-1, 6-0. In their match, Ronin Olsen and Wyatt Jelly were down, 3-6, 2-6, but won the match by forfeit. But the HHS boys team lost, 8-0, in its dual against CMR to end the day.

In its first dual of the day, the HHS girls team tied, 4-4, against Great Falls. After going 0-4 in singles, the Ponies did well in doubles to tie the dual. The duo of Courtney Burchard and Kat Kaftan won, 6-2, 6-1, in their match. The doubles team of Emerald Tinsley and Mylee Shennum won their match 6-4, 6-3.

In their match, Heather Herring and Alera Chandler won 1-6, 6-3, 10-6. The doubles team of Lindsey Leinwand and McKenna Caplette went down, 5-7, but won by forfeit to tie the dual for the Ponies.

In its dual against CMR, the HHS girls team lost 5-3. In singles, Amaya Bliwernitz won her match 6-0, 6-3. In doubles, the team of Tinsley and Shennum won, 3-6, 6-4, 10-6, in their match. The duo of Leinwand and Caplette won, 6-3, 6-5, in their match.

The HHS tennis teams will continue the season with the Dawson County Invite in Glendive starting this Friday at noon.
