LeRoy Jonathan Wenz, age 72, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 30th, 2023, at Northern Montana Care Center in Havre.
LeRoy was born Thursday, January 18th, 1951, in Miles City, MT, to Jonathan and Johanna (Straub) Wenz. He grew up on the family farm northwest of Plevna, MT. LeRoy attended grade school in Westmore, MT, and when that school closed, continued his education in Plevna. He graduated from Plevna High School in 1968.
He attended Rocky Mountain College in Billings, graduating in 1972 with a degree in Business Administration.
LeRoy married Sally Reiter October 6th, 1973, at Pilgrim Congregational Church in Billings, MT. They lived in Billings until they moved to the Wenz family farm near Plevna in 1975, farming and ranching until 1988.
They raised two sons, Adam, born in 1980, and Eric, born in 1984.
In 1988, they moved to a ranch near Red Lodge, where they continued ranching. Additionally, LeRoy worked as a Property Manager for apartments in Red Lodge, Laurel, and Hardin. They lived on the ranch near Red Lodge until 2000.
In 1999, LeRoy received his associate degree in computer and Electronics from May Technical College in Billings, MT.
In 2000, he went to the Connole-Mortin Real Estate class to receive his license as a Real estate Sales Agent. It was there that he met the love of his life, Judy Sinclair who was taking the same course. He later went to work with her father, Jack Oliver (an established and much-admired Real Estate Broker.) Once established as a Sales Agent, LeRoy and Judy purchased a home and LeRoy immediately began creating a phenomenal lawn and garden, one of his many passions. In addition to gardening, LeRoy also loved reading a variety of books, most of which will be donated to the Havre Public Library.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, Johanna and Jonathan.
LeRoy is survived by the love of his life, Judy Sinclair of Havre; former wife, Sally Wenz of Billings; his son Adam (Julie) Wenz and their children, Rachel and Christopher, all of Kalispell; son Eric of Billings; stepson, Jason Sinclair, and his son, Jaxson, both of Grand Junction, CO; as well as many loving relatives, in-laws, and friends.
Cremation has taken place, a memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church with Pastor Michael O'Hearn Officiating with burial of cremated remains to follow at the Highland Cemetery, luncheon to follow at the Havre Eagle's.
