Havre Police Department

An arrest was made after a Fifth Avenue caller asked Monday at 12:14 p.m. for assistance with a neighbor. No details on charges were provided in the dispatch log, but Gina Kirkpatrick Schmitte, who was named as an involved party, was listed in the jail roster as being held on a charge of disorderly conduct.

Jodana Nile Mitchell of Box Elder, 30, was arrested on a Justice or City court warrant and a charge of speeding in the city after a vehicle stop on Cowan Drive Monday at 2:58 p.m.

Kaylen Marie Ball of Havre, 29, was issued a summons and later arrested on charges of shoplifting and disorderly conduct after a Monday 4:38 p.m. caller at a First Street business reported a woman passed out at the facility. A caller at the hospital reported at 7:18 p.m. that Ball was ready for pick-up.

A drug pipe was reported found at a First Street West business Monday at 7:06 p.m.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

Deputies were asked at 9:54 a.m. Monday by National Weather Service staff to check along Big Sandy Creek for flooding.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical technicians responded to seven calls Monday.

Firefighters responded to a 12:20 p.m. Monday call to Second Street to assist with a cat stuck in a tree.

A fire crew responded to a Monday 2:35 p.m. fire alarm on the 600 Block of First Avenue where it turned out the smoke was from food left in a pan on the stove. The damage was contained to the cookware.

Firefighters were called Monday at 3:08 p.m. to the 1400 Block of U.S. Highway 2 West where a driver had backed a vehicle into the gas main. The scene was turned over to NorthWestern Energy for repairs to the gas line.

Havre Animal Shelter

The shelter this morning held one cat and two kittens, all of unknown gender, eight male cats and five female cats.

The shelter also held eight mixed-breed dogs, a male 18-week-old mixed-breed puppy, a 7-month-old mixed-breed puppy and a 17-week-old shepherd puppy. Additionally, a male mixed-breed dog was being housed off-site.
