MSU-N Athletes earn Academic Accolades

Many, many Montana State University-Northern men's and women's athletes have been honored with Academic All-Conference awards in recent weeks.

The MSU-N men's basketball team saw seniors C.J. Nelson and Immanuel Anderson, as well as junior Micaiah Hauser and sophomore Tanner McCliment-Call named Frontier Academic All-Conference for the 2022-23 season. To be eligible for the team, the student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in standing and maintain a 3.25 GPA or greater.

MSU-N women's basketball seniors ShaAnn Danelson, Sydney Hansen, Ryley Kehr and Abigail Keltner, and sophomores Shyan Krass and Dulci Skunkcap also were named Academic All-Conference.

Keltner, Kehr, Hansen, Danelson, Krass and Hauser were also named NAIA Daktronics Scholar Athletes for 2022-23. The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the 2023 Daktronics NAIA Men's Basketball Scholar-Athletes Friday. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.

In cross country, MSU-N's Eddie Harmon, Jaden Soon and Field Soosloff were also named Academic All-Conference, as were Payton Leibrand, Noah Nitz, Colter Szymoniak, Luke Triplett, Andreas Van Diest, Caden Woods and Andy Rasmussen in football.

MSU-N wrestlers Colin Silverthorn, Rylin Burns and Devin Crawford were also named Daktronics Scholar Athletes for the 2022-23 season.
