Havre track and softball teams have yet to begin their seasons
As the calendar turns to April, the Havre High tennis teams will continue the season with the Conrad Meet this Saturday. After a solid showing at the Cut Bank Invite, the Blue Ponies will look to play well again early this season.
On the singles side for the boys, netters such as Carter Spangler, Callen Stoner, Mason Kinsella and Carter Chagnon went undefeated in the first meet of the season and will look to continue to do that this weekend. In doubles, the duo of Tre Gary and Reid Kato and the team of Gavin Hall and Max Spangler will look to get another win this weekend.
On the girls side in doubles, the duo of Courtney Burchard and Cat Kaftan will look to continue playing well after going undefeated at the Cut Bank Invite. Rayna Johnson will look for another solid meet after a 1-1 start to the season in singles.
While the HHS tennis teams will continue their season, the other Havre High teams have yet to even get started because of the severe weather still lingering across the state. The HHS track and field teams were set to compete in the Glasgow Invitational this weekend to start the season, but that meet has now been canceled.
The HHS softball team has also had a tough time getting their season started. The Ponies were supposed to start playing last weekend with the Billings Central Jamboree, but that was canceled. Now their conference doubleheader against Miles City this weekend has been canceled.
Hopefully, the HHS track and field teams and the HHS softball team can get their seasons started soon. The HHS track and field teams are now scheduled to begin the season with the Fergus Meet in Lewistown April 6. HHS softball is now scheduled to start its season April 6 with the Fergus Tournament also in Lewistown.
