Jerry Allen Larson passed away Monday, February 6, in Anchorage, Alaska.
He was born October 23, 1940, and raised in Havre, Montana. In his early life, he was an outstanding athlete and participated in the school band and choir. Jerry lived a life full of laughter, kindness, and generosity. He had a passion for carpentry and took pride in his work. He attended Northern Montana College, now Montana State University-Northern, in Havre and later married Nancy Green in 1962. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served five years in the National Guard.
In 1992, shortly after his divorce, he had an opportunity to relocate to Hawaii and later built the new International Airport in Honolulu and the Princeville Hotel in Kauai. While in Hawaii he discovered a love of the water and sailing. He purchased a sailboat in Maui and sailed to Oahu, where he resided.
Jerry had a long and successful career as a private and commercial carpenter. He was in the Carpenters Union for over 47 years. He was respected in the carpentry field and admired by his colleagues.
Due to his health, Jerry returned to Alaska to be near family in 2017.
He leaves behind a legacy of hard work and dedication. Above all, Jerry was a loving friend to Nancy and a devoted father to Sherri, Jana and Crystal. He cherished the time he spent with his family in Montana, Alaska and Hawaii. He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather, and someone who always brought humor to any situation.
He is survived by his ex-wife and devoted friend, Nancy Larson; daughters, Sherri (Rod) Stephens, Jana (David) Stephens, and Crystal Larson; grandchildren, Brendan, Taylor, Dallas and Trey; along with sisters, Myrna (Jim) Sparks, Janice Larson, Sonya Hughes; and close cousin Sheila Villarreal, along with many other cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
