A brilliant career at Montana State University-Northern has come to an end for senior Jesse Keltner. Fittingly, Keltner was honored one last time.
Earlier this week, Keltner was named an NAIA All-American, earning Honorable Mention honors. The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced its three men's basketball All-America teams and honorable mentions on Tuesday on the heels of the 85th annual NAIA Men's Basketball National Championship.
Three teams of 12 players each comprised the three teams, along with the 46 players honorable mention list.
Keltner was selected Honorable Mention after an outstanding year for the Lights. He averaged nearly 14 points per game and shooting 65 percent from the field. He averaged seven rebounds a game, and was 62 percent from the free-throw line. He was ranked 15th overall in his field goal percentage, and was ranked seventh in blocked shots (69).
Keltner was also a First-Team All-Conference performer and the Frontier Conference’ Defensive MVP. He was a two-time all-conference standout for the Lights, of head coach Shawn Huse.
In all, Keltner was just one of three Frontier players to be named NAIA All-American this season. Montana Tech’s Caleb Bellach was named a First-Team All-American, while Providence’ Marcus Stephens joined Keltner on the All-American Honorable Mention list.
