Auctioneer Kevin Elias auctions off pies and breads Friday afternoon at the 2023 Montana Seed Show in the Harlem High School Gymnasium. The non-winning entries were sold after the judging was completed Friday, and the top-placing pies and breads were sold at a separate auction Saturday when the placings were announced. Pie competition chair Lisa Richman said that individual pies have made as much as $300 to $400 in charitable bidding wars, and all the proceeds are used to help put on the next year's seed show.

2023 Montana Seed Show pie entries line a table Friday in the Harlem High School Gymnasium. Pie Chair Lisa Hamilton said they received 28 total entries this year, up from 19 last year. And the judges and workers took more than three hours to thoroughly evaluate all the entries and tabulate the scores.
