Superintendent: Precautionary measure, expected to be back in session Wednesday
Voyd St. Pierre, superintendent of Rocky Boy Schools announced in a press release Monday that grades pre-K through 12th would be closed today due to smoke exposure to the elementary building.
The smoke, the release said, was from a small fire in one of the stoves in the cafeteria kitchen. The fire was isolated to the stove and the closure is simply a precautionary measure.
School staff spent Monday since the fire circulating fresh air through the building, the release said, and classes are expected to be in session as normal Wednesday.
