Harlem schools set election

Harlem Public Schools announced it will hold a school trustee election Tuesday, May 2, 2023.

The announcement said the election will be for one three-year term position for the entire district and one three-year term position for Harlem School District #12.

The positions going vacant are held by Jonathan P. Walker and Michael King II, the announcement said.

It said anyone may pick of a declaration of intent and oath of candidacy at the Harlem School District #12 Business Office. Any person who is eligible to vote in the district shall be eligible for the office of trustee.

The declaration of intent and oath of candidacy must be filed with District Election Administrator Cassie Handran before 4 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2032, the announcement said. No candidate shall be on the ballot unless they meet that deadline. The length of term must be specified on the oath of candidacy.
