Animal control live-trapped a stray dog 12:46 p.m. Wednesday on 19th Avenue North.

A hit and run crash was reported Wednesday at 8:07 p.m. on 13th Avenue.

A beer theft was reported Wednesday at 11:52 p.m. at a First Street business.

Officers were asked at 4:53 a.m. today to assist Hill County Sheriff's deputies with an assault.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

Franklin James Buck III of Shelby, 52, was arrested on three state District Court warrants served Wednesday at 2:59 p.m. at Hill County Detention Center.

A broken hay bale was reported in the westbound lane of U.S. Highway 2 East about three miles east of town Wednesday at 4:28 p.m.

Deputies investigated an assault reported on Fifth Avenue North at 4:49 a.m. today.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical technicians responded to two calls in the 24-hour reporting period. Fire crews also responded to two calls with no signs of smoke, fire or other issues found.

Havre Animal Shelter

The shelter this morning held four cats of unknown gender, four male cats, two female 7-month-old kittens and four female cats.

The shelter also held six male and three female mixed-breed dogs, a female dachshund, a male pit bull terrier, a 23-week-old Australian shepherd puppy, five 11-week-old mixed-breed puppies and six 8-week-old mixed breed puppies. Additionally, an 11-week-old puppy and a male dog, both of mixed-breeding, were being housed off-site.
