Emory Mae (Brockie) Champagne, 'C'cccniinen'i (White Clay), or Gros Ventre name Niihcc'eihk, Nee-haw-A (Yellow Hair), born January 10, 1944, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Benefis Healthcare in Great Falls, MT.
Her wake will begin at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2023, at the Fort Belknap Community Center and will continue until her Rosary, which will be said at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2023, at the Community Center. Emory's funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2023, at the St. Paul Mission Church. Burial will follow her funeral service in the St. Paul Mission Cemetery.

Emory was born to her parents, Martha NezPerce and Clarence Joseph "Jo Jo" Brockie, at the Fort Belknap Agency. Her education extended to her obtaining her bachelor's degree from Northern Montana College. She spent her life in education, where she was a Native American Indian tutor at Havre High School.
Emory loved beading, reading, crossword puzzles, sudoku, powwows, machines, Facebook, and watching sports. Emory was beloved tribal health director for 15 years at the Fort Belknap Tribal Health Center.
Emory has gone on to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ; beloved husband, Martin David "Tenis" Champagne; her daughter Clementina "Tina" Crowe; her beloved angel baby Memory; her adopted son Ervinal LittleSun; her grandsons Steven BearCrane Cole and Grant Saddler, Jr .; her granddaughter Roberta Sanchez; her siblings, Robert Brockie, Vernon Brockie, Bill Brockie, Clarence Brockie, Bonita Buck, and Donna (Duane) Brockie Boyer; her brother-in-law, Robert Doney; and special friends, Neoma Abbott and Veronica Bear Cub.
Surviving to cherish Emory's memory are her children Cletus (Earline Bear Crane) Cole, Travis (Rose) Brockie, Donna Shortman, Clarence Champagne, Robert Champagne, Moses Champagne, Thomas Champagne, Martha Champagne Mitchell (James Dean), Emory Rose Champagne (Gary Phelan Jr.); adopted children Jeremy Gone, Calvin Gone III, Patrick Gone Jr., Erica Gone, Toya Stump, James Daychild, Matthew Johnson, Daniel James "D.J." Adams, Terri Healy, Deborah Morsette, and Todd Hanson; grandchildren Phillip, Cletus Cole "C.C." Jr., Felicia, Elijah, Jason, Travis Jr., Jesse, Wilson, Edison, Demetri, Tyrone, ShoShana, Titus, Shalona, Alvin "A.J.," LaTasha, Clarissa, Christopher, Ricky James, Tommy, Jordana, Malcom, Jaylynn, and Josette "Josie;" 60 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; siblings Eddie (Francine) Brockie, Kenneth (Kim) Nicholson, Frank Buck, Michael "Conrad" Buck, Joe Ironman Jr., Joey Brockie, Margaret Nicholson, Debbie Brockie Doney, Nita Brockie, and Becky Brockie, as well as the Pete and Joyce Gone and Erma Gone families. Emory is also survived by her special friends Susan Moran and Carmalita BlackCrow. Emory's extended family also included the Brockies, Boyers, Champagnes, Foxes, NezPerces, Bucks, and Grants, and many more loved ones that she considered her family, friends, and her students.
