Agenda - Havre City Council Safety Committee

Havre City Council’s Safety Committee will meet at 1:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, in the City Hall Emergency Operations Center room.

The meeting’s agenda is:

Call to order

Attendance: attendees are asked to sign in on attendance sheet.

1. Environmental remediation update for City Hall: Discussion of remediation plans for asbestos, lead, and other heavy metals.

2. Public complaint on seatbelt usage: The Safety Committee received a public comment on city workers not using seatbelts in their vehicles and this will be discussed.

3. Training updates: Each department lead, or designee, that is present will provide a brief update on safety related training that has been completed since the last safety meeting. Safety training that is ongoing, or planned soon, will also be discussed.

4. Injury reports: Injury reports will be discussed by department leadership, or designee, where an injury has occurred since the last meeting. The supervisor, or designee, will provide information regarding what happened, type of injury, how to prevent similar injuries, etc. Any, and all, personal information about the injured individual(s) shall remain confidential and not revealed to the committee per policy.

5. Safety concerns: Any individual may bring up specific safety concerns for discussion during this portion of the meeting. Concerns may be addressed by the Safety Committee at this time to find a viable solution in an expeditious manner. Also, if necessary, the committee may convene on a more frequent basis if a serious safety issue requires further discussion/action. Meetings will be held until a resolution is found, at which point we will return to quarterly meetings. City administrators, supervisors, and other employees may also reach out to the committee individually to address a concern.

The next Safety Committee meeting will be held Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. in the EOC room.
