Blue Ponies head to Great Falls for state swim meet

Down in Great Falls this weekend, the Havre High swimming teams will wrap up their season with the State Meet. In their final competition of the season, the Blue Ponies will be looking to swim their best.

Many Ponies will swim at this weekend's meet. Liliana Smith will swim in both the girls 200-yard freestyle and the girls 500-yard freestyle. Hailey Gingery will compete in the girls 100-yard freestyle and the girls 200-yard freestyle. Willow Riggin will swim in the girls 200-yard freestyle and girls 100-yard breaststroke.

Jayla Meldrum will swim in the girls 200-yard freestyle and the girls 500-yard freestyle. Elizabeth Carroll will suit up for the girls 200-yard IM and the girls 100-yard backstroke. Mackenzie Dean will swim in the girls 200-yard IM and the girls 100-yard butterfly.

Ainsley Courtnage will compete in the girls 100-yard breaststroke and the girls 50-yard freestyle. Courtney Burchard will swim in the girls 50-yard freestyle and the girls 100-yard freestyle. Kyla Burchard will swim in the girls 100-yard butterfly and the girls 100-yard backstroke.

Kate Hemmer will look to perform well in the girls 100-yard freestyle and the girls 100-yard backstroke. Katie Messinger will swim in the girls 200-yard IM and Ali Maloughney will compete in the girls 100-yard butterfly for the Ponies. Gracie Shandorf will swim in the girls 500-yard freestyle and Brenna Hansen will compete in the girls 100-yard breaststroke.

On the boys side, Conner McKay will swim in the boys 100-yard freestyle and the boys 200-yard freestyle. In his final swim meet, Carson Sandstrom will swim in the boys 50-yard freestyle and the boys 100-yard freestyle. Chase Mariani will suit up for the boys 200-yard freestyle and the boys 500-yard freestyle.

Nate Gregoire will end his season swimming in the boys 200-yard freestyle and the boys 500-yard freestyle. Ezra Goldhaun will swim in the boys 50-yard freestyle and the boys 500-yard freestyle this weekend. Blake Taylor will compete for the Ponies in the boys 200-yard IM and the boys 100-yard breaststroke.

Micah Cammon will swim in the boys 50-yard freestyle and the boys 100-yard breaststroke. Tolson Kempton will compete in the boys 50-yard freestyle and the boys 100-yard freestyle. Jackson Siemens will swim in the boys 100-yard freestyle and the boys 100-yard breaststroke. Koby Preputin will wrap up his year by swimming in the boys 100-yard backstroke and the boys 500-yard freestyle.

Over the course of the weekend, the Ponies will swim against schools such as Billings Central, Hardin, Columbia Falls and Polson. If they want to rise above the competition, the Ponies will need to put forth their best performance of the season.

The HHS swimming teams will begin the State Meet this Friday in Great Falls.
