Havre Police Department

Darrin Kent Torgerson of Havre, 50, was arrested on charges of possession with intent to sell, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia and on two Justice or City court warrants at 9:07 a.m. at a business on U.S. Highway 2 West after a caller from the business requested help removing someone.

Officers provided assistance in response to an 11:34 a.m. Wednesday call about a juvenile in the middle of 13th Street.

A caller at a First Street business asked Wednesday at 11:55 a.m. for assistance with a drug offense.

Officers provided assistance in locating an elderly person with dementia who left a Fifth Street location Wednesday at 12:50 p.m.

Public Works was notified about a dumpster reported in the middle of the First Street West at 1:03 p.m. Wednesday.

NorthWestern Energy notified Havre Police Wednesday at 1:46 p.m. that an area at 12th Avenue and Third Street would be blocked off to replace a pole.

A caller in the Havre area reported Wednesday at 9:08 p.m. that a juvenile, who was supposed to be home right after school, still had not returned.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

A Wednesday 11:20 a.m. report of a dead deer on First Street North was transferred to another agency.

Deputies marked for towing a vehicle parked on state Highway 234 near Pagers Campground Wednesday at 1:36 p.m.

Michael Dess of Box Elder, 19, was arrested on a state District Court warrant served Wednesday at 1:56 p.m. at Hill County Detention Center.

Ricky John Clark Jr. of Havre, 27, was arrested on two Justice or City court warrants served on Fifth Street North Wednesday at 4:43 p.m.

Montana Highway Patrol

Montana Highway Patrol was called Wednesday at 7:42 p.m. to a vehicle crash on Highway 87 at mile marker 100 near Laredo. The responding trooper was not available to provide details on the crash, but Havre Fire Chief Nathan Courtnage said his department responded with an ambulance and a fire engine. He said two people were treated at the scene and declined transport, but five others were treated and transported to the hospital. No one required extrication from the vehicle.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical technicians responded to four calls Wednesday and one early this morning, and a fire crew responded with an ambulance to a vehicle crash.

Havre Animal Shelter

The shelter this morning held seven male cats and three female cats, and five cats are being held for the trap-neuter-release program.

The shelter also held two male and one female mixed-breed dogs, a female dachshund, a female Australian cattle dog-blue heeler, a male pit bull terrier, two mixed-breed puppies ages 7 and 11 months, and 9 11-week-old mixed-breed puppies. Additionally, seven 12-week-old puppies, a female 11-week-old puppy and a male dog, all of mixed-breeding, were being housed off-site.
