It was another tough night in the Armory Gymnasium for the Montana State University-Northern women's basketball team.
Saturday, the Skylights fell to 0-12 in the Frontier Conference with a 68-51 loss to the University of Providence Argos. The loss was Northern's third to UP this season.
The Skylights went on a 6-0 run at the start of the game. Providence stepped on the peddle and went on a 23-2 run in the first quarter. Northern battled in the second quarter losing by one, 16-15. The Argos kept a good steady lead to take the game.
The Skylights were led by Briaunna McCullough, who had 14 points with 6-13 from the field. Shyan Krass added 13 points going 5-11 from the field. Jalen Callender, Ryley Kehr and Savanna Toms each added five rebounds.
The Argos were led by Brooklyn Harn, who went 7-12 from the field with 21 points. Reed Hazard added 18 points and five rebounds. Maddy Dixon added a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
The Skylights shot a field goal percentage of 35, 20 percent from the arc, and 58 percent from the free throw line. The Argos shot 35 percent from the field, 33 percent from the 3-point line, and 100 percent from the free throw.
With the loss, MSU-N fell to 7-18 this season. The Skylights have road games at Rocky Mountain College Thursday night, and Montana Western Saturday afternoon before finishing the regular season at home against Montana Tech on Feb. 18.
