News you can use
Wow, what a phenomenal year! 2022 was filled with growth, challenges, discovery, and opportunity.
The past 10 months as the executive director of the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce have afforded me the opportunity to really lean into our business community, build relationships, and learn about the challenges our businesses face. I've also been awakened - there are many opportunities available for our community!
Looking back at 2022 we have many successes to celebrate! The 2nd annual Bear Paw Marathon was wildly successful with 352 registrations. Participants traveled from 15 states and two Canadian provinces. Saturday Market and Sounds on the Square were well-attended throughout the summer season. Festival Days boasted huge crowds across all events throughout the weekend; the parade had well over 80 floats! Our community endured the cold and showed out for the Holiday Stroll. The communitywide clean-ups were supported across many organizations, and job fairs were well attended.
Seeing the community out and about enjoying these events is very rewarding. The Chamber board of directors, volunteers, and sponsors, as well as the support of our local government make these events possible. A sincere thank-you goes out to each of you.
We gained 19 new members in 2022 and we are so thrilled to serve them alongside our longstanding members. We also gave back to our community through gifting. Recipients include the Havre FFA program, Downtown Havre Matters!, families in need during the holidays, and the Havre Splash Park.
We're jumping into 2023 with enthusiasm and excitement! Our goals for 2023 include growing our Chamber membership, building upon relationships, supporting Downtown Havre Matters!, and increasing our online and social media presence. We have a passionate and driven board of directors to carry out our mission and reach our goals.
Historically, the Chamber has held an executive director and office manager position. In April of 2022, I accepted both roles and succeeded, but not without the help and support of our board of directors. We've decided it is best to bring an office manager back on board so I can dedicate my time to serving our members. Thank you for granting me grace and supporting me throughout 2022 as I grew into my role as executive director and office manager.
Current members, thank you for entrusting us to support you; it is our pleasure to serve you! If you are not currently a member and I've piqued your interest, please reach out - I'd love the opportunity to discuss how the Chamber can support you and/or your business.
Here's to jumping in with both feet in 2023!
