MaRae Small, CJI Girls Basketball
The Chester-Joplin-Inverness Hawks are off to a good start in girls basketball this season, and last week was no exception. In CJI’s win over Sunburst, MaRae Small scored 17 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for the Hawks, who improved to 3-2 on the season. Small has been outstanding this season for a CJI team that has been very balanced. Small averages nine points per game thus far. Small also played volleyball for the Hawks back in the fall.
Tyler Schoen, Chinook Wrestling
Fresh off a big football season in which he was Class C All-State, Chinook’s Tyler Schoen is rolling on the wrestling mat. Earlier this month, Schoen won the 182-pound championship at the prestigious CMR Holiday Classic in Great Falls. Schoen, a 2022 Class BC state champion, also won titles at the Havre Invite and Scottie Invitational this past month to remain undefeated on the season. Schoen won the 170-pound B-C state championship back in February.
