ConnectMT to hold town hall on broadband access and quality

ConnectMT will be holding a town hall in Havre Wednesday evening to gather information and recommendations from locals regarding broadband access and quality in the region.

The ConnectMT Program was created by Senate Bill 297 and House Bill 632 in and is funded by the American Rescue Plan Act with up to $266 million to be awarded to develop new high-speed terrestrial-based broadband service for underserved, unserved, and frontier locations throughout Montana.

A press release from ConnectMT said this is part of a larger outreach tour for the organization to hear about people’s experiences and opinions regarding broadband access with sessions in Havre, Butte, Missoula and Miles City.

“Your input will inform plans to improve internet access and quality across Montana,” the release says.

Earlier this year the program visited Billings, Glendive, Glasgow, Kalispell, Great Falls and Helena.

The meeting is open to the general public and will run from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Best Western Plus Havre Inn & Suites.

The release says people with questions or who are unable to attend in-person town halls can email them at [email protected] to schedule an appointment for a virtual discussion.
