Friends of the Pool and Park Foundation sets Chinook outdoor ice-skating event

Press release

A local foundation is setting up a December event for some holiday-season ice skating.

The Chinook Friends of the Pool and Park Foundation are actively working toward fundraising for rehabilitation of the Pool and Park Complex.

Represeantatives of the foundation said they are excited to bring this fun event to the area that will give folks a chance to go ice skating at the old skating rRink in Chinook Saturday, Dec m17, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. just south of the Chinook City Pool.

Should the proposed bond pass in February, the old rink will be removed when construction of the complex occurs and in its place will be a new skate Ppark.

“The organization would like to have a ‘last hurrah’ at the old skating rink and give the community a chance to come out and enjoy a fun-filled evening of skating one last time in Chinook,” a release form the foundation said.

The foundation will be accepting free-will donations to skate and skates will be available to rent should people need them. Chili, hot cocoa and Rice Krispie treats will be for sale at the event and S’mores available to roast.

People who do not wish to skate are encouraged to attend with seating available in tents with tower heaters and a fun-filled ambience for the holiday season.

All proceeds of this event will go towards the organization’s mission to repair the Chinook Pool and Park Complex.
